My Research Stay at Monash University

I was given the opportunity to take part in a research stay at the Monash University in Australia. Read more about it here!

During my six-month research stay at Carnegie Mellon University’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) in Pittsburgh, USA, I had the opportunity to be part of Prof. Dr. David Lindlbauer’s Augmented Perception Lab. Working closely with David and his fantastic team was an incredibly rewarding experience that I truly would not want to have missed.

As a doctoral researcher of project A03 of the SFB-TRR 161, I am researching “Quantification of Visual Explainability.” During my research stay from February to May 2023, I joined the Visualization and Graphics (VIG) group at the Utrecht University.

During my research stay, I joined the Algorithmics group at the University of Perugia, led by Prof. Giuseppe Liotta.

In early 2023, PhD student Yao Wang visited Aalto University in Finland. On our blog he reports on his research stay.

Doctoral researcher Christoph Schulz spent three months at the ETH Zurich working on order-statistical measurements for graphs and networks to assess representativeness.

During my research stay, I joined the Visualization Design Lab (VDL) at the University of Utah, which is led by Prof. Miriah Meyer and Prof. Alexander Lex. It is embedded in the larger Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute (SCI).

During this winter, I spent almost three months at the Multimedia Signal Processing Workgroup led by Prof. Dietmar Saupe at the University of Konstanz. During this stay I had the opportunity to meet many researchers who work in image and video quality assessment and pursue my research work.

Last summer, I went for a three month research stay at the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR, USA. I closely collaborated with the research group on Computing and Data Understanding at eXtreme Scale (CDUX) led by Hank Childs. Their work is closely related to my research within the SFB-TRR 161 at the Visualization Research Center at the University of Stuttgart. In the collaborative project, we worked on performance prediction in hybrid in situ environments.

I’m a PhD student at University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Canada, where I belong to the visualization for information analytics laboratory (vialab). In this past summer, I had the amazing opportunity to spend 3 months in the University of Konstanz working closely with the Data Analytics and the Computational Linguistic groups.
